Joints In Motion - Lisa's walk for Arthritis

Hello and thanks for visiting my Joints In Motion Pledge Site. In December, I will be joining thousands of other walkers and runners in Honolulu, Hawaii to fight against Arthritis.

I am walking/running in honor of my dear friend Chiquita Savoy. Chiquita was diagnosed with Lupus in the Summer of 1999. Lupus is an arthritis-related disease. It is an autoimmune disease that displays similar symptoms as many forms of arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation has always served the lupus community and supported lupus research.

Chiquita often suffers from joint pain, stiffness and swelling of fingers and toes. Chiquita also has Kidney disease that is associated with Lupus. I see first hand how this disease affects my friend so I am committed to helping Chiquita and all those who suffer from Arthritis and related diseases. Conquering my first marathon and raising a minimum of $4000 is my way of doing just that.

You can help by making a tax deductable donation to the Arthritis foundation. Click on Donate to the left to find out how you can contribute.

The Arthritis Foundation's Joints in motion Training Team is a national program that recruits first time runners and walkers in the metropolitan area to raise funds to benefit arthritis programs, services, research and to help create awareness for a disease that affects 1 in 6 Americans. Approximately 285,000 of those affected are children under the age of 17. Each participant volunteers for a twenty-week training program and the opportunity to run or walk a marathon on behalf of the Arthritis Foundation. A significant number of our honorees are children and youth who suffer from arthritis.

The Arthritis Foundation is a non-profit (501C3) voluntary health organization, whose mission is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases.

Again, thanks for visiting and for you support. Don't forget to sign my guestbook!
